All drivers within the scope of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations must be trained and hold a Vocational Training Certificate (ADR) issued by the DVLA. This is required by UK regulations implementing the relevant EU directive.

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations and in particular the requirements of:

  • The United Nations Classification System for Dangerous Goods
  • The rules for segregation of incompatible materials
  • The Transport Security Provisions while carrying dangerous goods
  • The correct loading and unloading of dangerous substances
  • The provision of safety equipment
  • The correct parking requirements while carrying dangerous substances
  • How to respond effectively in emergencies

On successful completion of the course and subsequent examination modules, delegates will receive an ADR certificate from DVLA Swansea permitting them to carry dangerous substances by road, both nationally and internationally.

The length of the course depends on the modules taken, with content designed to suit individuals that just need to update their knowledge, as well as those with more comprehensive training needs.
