ADR Driver Training

The current European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road 2009(ADR) and The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 (CDG), require the driver of any dangerous goods carrying vehicle, over certain thresholds, to undertake vocational training (ADR Certification) and in all cases to undertake training corresponding to their duties.

Who Needs an ADR Certificate?

“Drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods shall hold a certificate issued by the competent authority or by any organisation recognised by that authority stating that they have participated in a training course and passed an examination on the particular requirements that have to be met during carriage of dangerous goods.” 8.2.1.1 ADR 2009.

Candidates receive training in the following areas: Fire, First Aid, Vehicle Documentation, Vehicle Equipment, Emergency Procedures, Hazards of Dangerous Goods, Security of Loads, Loading and Unloading of Dangerous Goods in Packages and Tankers.

Full Initial ADR Certification – Includes the 7 general classes, dangerous goods in packages & tanks. Duration: 5 days

Packages Only Initial ADR Certification – Includes the 7 general classes, dangerous goods in packages. Duration: 4 days

Tanks and Class 3 ADR Certification – Initial 3 days, Refresher 2 days

Both the 5 and 4 Day course are available with 21 hours of Driver CPC

Operator ‘O Licence’ CPC (Haulage)

Certificate of Professional Competence Road Haulage

To gain the qualification required, via OCR examinations, leading to the Certificate of Professional Competence required by EEC Directive for admission to the occupation of Road Haulage Operator, as implemented by the Goods Vehicle Operators (Qualifications) Regulations 1977.

This 12 day course is delivered quarterly and commercially chargeable or as part of the Team Leading (Logistics) Level 3 Apprenticeship which could be fully funded.

To gain the qualification required, via OCR examinations, leading to the Certificate of Professional Competence required by EEC Directive for admission to the occupation of Passenger Transport Operator, as implemented by the Passenger Vehicle Operators (Qualifications) Regulations 1977.

This 12 day course is delivered quarterly and commercially chargeable or as part of the PCV Transport Operations Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship which could be fully funded.

‘O’ licence compliance and training (Operator Compliant Service)

Door Security (SIA) and Spectator Safety Training

This 3 week training program will include the BTEC Level 2 ‘Working as a Door Supervisor’ as well as the NVQ Level 2 in ‘Spectator Safety’. This is a blended training course that will include observations in the workplace as part of the requirement for the NVQ and classroom learning with paper based multiple choice tests.  Your observation and work based learning could be at any of the following events, depending on the time of year and location the training is being delivered at:

  • Premiership or Championship football stadiums
  • National arenas (Millennium Stadium, Wembley, Twickenham, NEC etc) for concerts and sporting events

Forklift Training

We offer a wide range of forklift training courses for both individual candidates and businesses. Courses are available in-centre or on customers sites, for all types of forklift trucks including; Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Pallet Stacker Truck, Pallet Truck, Low Level Order Picker (LLOP), Telescopic Materials Handler, HIAB (Lorry Mounted Crane), Pivot Steer / Bendi Forklift, and 360 Excavator.

 Forklift Training Levels

  • Basic Training specifically for untrained operators who will receive basic operator training
  • Experienced Operator training is for experienced operators who have not received basic training.
  • Conversion Training is for operators who hold a forklift certificate and wish to train on a different machine
  • Refresher Training for certificated operators, recommended every 3 to 5 years.

Course Lengths

Course lengths may vary due to onsite training facilities, group numbers, machine types and in house training requirements. Below are the recommended training days for a group of 3 candidates.

  • Novices – 5 days training
  • Experienced – 3 days training
  • Conversion (from other truck type/capacities) – 2 days
  • Refresher training – 1 day
