Somax Ltd have successfully become a main provider for the Governments new Trailblazer Apprenticeships starting in May 2017 enabling us to deliver our own direct contract for training. We have been working with steering groups for the past two years to develop and now deliver to new and existing customers, improved and approved qualifications and training.
The Trailblazer Apprenticeships will be available to all Levy payers as well as Non-Levy payers. Levy payers are those companies where the wage spend is in excess of £3 million per annum, Non-Levy payers are those that have less than a £3 million wage spend per annum. We will be delivering the following Trailblazer Apprenticeships:
- The Large Goods Vehicle Driver
- The Supply Chain Operative
- Supply Chain Warehouse Operations
- Express Delivery / Courier (when approved)
Each Trailblazer has its own scheme of work and industry relative training MUST be included. Therefore, we will be able to deliver these Apprenticeships and include training which we have not been able to fund before:
- Cat C1 Driver Training
- Cat C Driver Training
- Cat CE Driver Training
- Driver CPC (MOD2 and MOD4 Training)
- Driver CPC (Five days of Periodic Training)
- ADR Training
- Operator CPC
- Forklift – Counterbalance, Reach, Pallet Trucks etc
This is the first time in 30 years that we’ve been able to offer funded training solutions for ALL our training courses and to ALL AGE GROUPS as in the past, funding has been restricted by age and qualification.
Simon Werkshagen, Managing Director at Somax commented
“we are delighted to have been selected as a Main Training Provider for the Government Trailblazer Apprenticeship scheme. This will revolutionise the way our Customers can train their new or existing staff, regardless of age or length of time employed with training products which we can now fund with our own direct Government contract.”.
